Citroen Berlingo (98 - 09)
Review
They’ve been a fairly prominent vehicle in the family car segment for a number of years now, and what makes the Berlingo so popular is the fact that it’s quite reasonably priced, doesn’t cost an awful lot to keep on the road, it is a very practical car, and it is really reliable, strong, and well-built. Of course it isn’t a bad looking car either but you wouldn’t buy one for its appearance. There is acres of space in the cabin, you can easily seat five people and still have lots of room for luggage. The driving position, good handling and great visibility mean that it’s a very easy car to drive. It handles well, the steering feels decisive, and the ride, for the most part, feels somewhat supple. Visibility is good, and thanks to the small-ish dimensions, it’s fairly easy to manoeuvre and to park. In terms of engines, there are some good ones in the range, boasting efficiency and excellent fuel economy.
Look Out For
• There have been complaints of a few electrical niggles over the years
